
Pastor Jonathan Ahnquist Pastor Ahnquist received a BA degree in drama and theater from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill in 1972. In 1977, he earned a master’s degree in divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA. On June 25, 1977, Pastor was ordained into the Lutheran Church of America, Illinois Synod. From 1977 to 1979, he served as pastor of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Avon, Conn. In 1979, he was called to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Newington, Conn., where he served for 10 years. In 1989, he became pastor of First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable, Mass., where he remains today. Pastor Ahnquist has been very involved in our community. He served as a member of the executive board of the Cape Cod Council of Churches and works closely with the Salvation Army in their efforts to help the homeless on Cape Cod. Each month, Pastor Ahnquist hosts “On Good Faith,” a community television show produced by the Council of Churches and aired on local channels. Pastor Ahnquist invites religious and community leaders to join him on the show to discuss timely topics that affect the wider community. Outside of church, he has been actively involved in the Barnstable Comedy Club since the early 1990s. Jonathan and his wife are the parents of 3 adult children and proud grandparents of two. |

Lynn Tozier, A.I.M. Lynn began her undergraduate education at Manchester Community College, receiving an Associates of Science in Lab Technology in 1983. In May of 1992 she graduated from Concordia College, Bronxville, NY with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Lutheran Teachers Diploma. In June of 1993 she received ELCA certification as an Associate in Ministry. The following year she taught math, science and religion to 6-8th graders at Immanuel Lutheran Christian Day School. In October of 1993 she was called to St. John’s Lutheran church in Stamford, CT as an Associate in Ministry. Lynn has been the youth coordinator for the New England Synod and has received certification from the ELCA youth/family ministry. Lynn accepted a call to First Lutheran in West Barnstable in December 2000 as an Associate in Ministry and Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministry. |
